Snocap And Warner Music Group High Five Each Other With Digital Music Deal

SnocapEarlier this week Snocap, a San Francisco based digital licensing company, announced a deal with Warner Music Group making WMG songs available for purchase on sites such as MySpace.com. Under this deal Snocap’s MyStores widgets will allow users to directly purchase music from the likes of Lupe Fiasco, T.I. with more websites to be added in the coming weeks. The DRM-ed music files will be WMAs instead of MP3s. Is it safe to say that WMG is pro Zune?

Metric’s New ‘Summery’ Album Details

Metric’s Emily Haines spoke with NME recently with news about recording tracks for their next album.

We just got this amazing space and the first recording and writing sessions for Metric are in there right now. We’ve written about 15 songs. We’re starting to hone in and choose some of our favourites. It’ll be a summer album, regardless of when it’s released. It definitely will have a summer atmosphere.

Metric will be previewing new materials by playing at intimate shows in Canada. “We’re doing a few shows in that’ll be strictly new material,” Haines said. “We’ll play eight new songs and then an encore.”

Arctic Monkeys On The Rise

You’d probably have to go back to the heyday of the Beatles in the early-mid Sixties to find anything that could come close to matching this record

Source: Reuters UK

The above quote comes from HMV spokesman Gennaro Castaldo, who is claiming that the Arctic Monkeys could have 18 singles in the top 200 on Sunday, after a rule change that means Internet downloads are now eligible and physical forms of tracks are no longer necess.

Did anyone catch The Artic Monkeys performance on Jimmy Kimmel last night? The video has not been found on YouTube yet.
