Jacob Bronstein is the man behind the Brooklyn music label, CrystalTop. The label recently released an eclectic mix of songs ranging from soul, jazz, electronica featuring up-and-coming artist on a compilation entitled, CrystalTop Music Presents. We had the chance to speak with Jacob about the start of his label, the state of a DRM society and the future plans of CrystalTop.
Caleb Boddicker, fresh from our inaugural On The Radar series, answers a few of our questions via email about school, Chicago and playing poker.
The Feeling were the most played band on the radio in the U.K in 2006 and having one of the biggest hit single with the song “Sewn” didn’t hurt either. The quintet has enjoyed their quick rising success with their lush pop sound and sweet melodies. Their debut of “Twelve Stops And Home” has since gone double platinum.
When we first caught wind of Caleb Boddicker we hardly knew what to expect. Reading his bio, words such as “Modest Mouse,” “Brian Deck” and “musical genius” stood out brilliantly.
With a name as Shout Out Louds one would expect massive a showcase where each member yells or plays their respective instruments very loud. This is not the case with Shout Out Louds. The Swedish band, fronted by Adam Olenius, describes themselves as four boys and a girl from Stockholm. Their music is an indie-popsters dream and is highly infectious but does not border into saccharine territory.
