Jacob Bronstein is the man behind the Brooklyn music label, CrystalTop. The label recently released an eclectic mix of songs ranging from soul, jazz, electronica featuring up-and-coming artist on a compilation entitled, CrystalTop Music Presents. We had the chance to speak with Jacob about the start of his label, the state of a DRM society and the future plans of CrystalTop.
This past weekend a few of us here at Aeki Tuesday volunteered our time at the Green Apple Music & Arts Festival. The festival started last year and has now grown to include Chicago and San Francisco with a total of over 200 events. Its goal was to raise awareness of Earth Day. The GAMAF provided environmentally friendly cups, napkins, paper towels and cleaning materials to each venue in the city in hopes these venues will notice the impact of such a practice. Artists such as Kaki King, Mason Jennings, Dave Matthews, Catie Curtis and a slew of other acts were part of this music festival.
This, ladies and gentlemen, is the Feist we should’ve known could happen. Of course, Let It Die was an exceptional, unassailably cool album, displaying her warm lounge/indie-pop sound, but what it lacked in complexity
