Summer Solstice: My Super Sweet Sixteen got busted up by the Cops

Being a broke New Yorker, you can’t afford to do much. Being a broke publicist however exposes you to the opportunity to sell your soul for a good party. Everybody wants promotion! Everybody wants to have a cool party! Everybody loves free beer and vodka! It’s a free for all, dear reader and yes, I sold my event to the highest bidder. I loved every minute of it.

Rather than divulge my secrets to sponsorship, let me just say that “sponsorship works like a snowbal”. You provide a platform for a product to promote itself and others will tumble into the fold.

If it wasn’t for Jonny Lives, the most excellent band of lower east side gentlemen, YRB Magazine would never have signed on as media sponsor. If it wasn’t for Bonnie and her amazing team at Heartland Brewery, p.i.n.k vodka would have never donated and so on and so forth.

Party was a mix of hot glam and delicious libation high above 7th street between 1st and Avenue A.

Jazz outfit Warrior Circle warmed up the crowd with music under the twinkling icicle lights and fading sun.

Myopenbar.com described it as “my super sweet 16 for 20 somethings with great PR contacts” and advised party goers to wish my friend Jenny B. happy birthday with “anal beads”. Sadly, someone posted that listing without my authorization. But most sadly, there were no anal beads that night and some of us were left waiting with KY staining our party dresses in anticipation.

But it was still an awesome time.
